Timothy Center

In today’s world many adults desire to grow in their knowledge and relationship with Jesus Christ and yearn for deeper encounters with the Word of God. Typically these desires cannot be met in the usual church gatherings of one or two hours per week. Because of this reality, we have developed The Timothy Center, a Bible institute in our area to meet the in depth academic needs of Christians desiring a greater knowledge of God’s word.
A Bible institute is an area-wide, non-denominational, non-degree granting school of adult education for the purpose of providing advanced training and equipping in biblical studies, ministry skills, and leadership skills so lay people may be better prepared for the “work of the ministry”. The Bible institute serves as an arm of the local church to provide advanced biblical and practical training for adults and is committed to communicating biblical knowledge for application to life, and ministry skills. A bible institute provides the local church with a source of trained and equipped leaders.
An institute is committed to, (1) Reaching people for Christ (1Corinthians 15:3-5); (2) Teaching the Word of God (2 Timothy 2:15); (3) Supporting the Local Churches and Pastors (1 Tim.3:15; 1Thess. 5:12-13) (4) Training missionaries for service at home and abroad (Acts 1:8).
Dr. Tony Evans writes; “The Bible is critical, foundational – but it must be animated by the Spirit of God. Whenever the Bible becomes an end in itself, then it’s only information rather than the path to transformation. But when we have Bible-centeredness combined with the filling of the Spirit, we get to see the supernatural hand of God at work.” (The Fire That Ignites. p.83)
The Timothy Center of the Columbia Basin Bible Institute exists to provide deeper knowledge of the Bible that leads to transformed lives for the glory of God and the good of His people. Refer to the following class list for the curriculum. We are anticipating offering Apologetics in the Fall semester of 2009.
